Counselling for parents of SEN / neuro-diverse children

Counselling support for parents / carers of SEN children

I have an interest in supporting parents / carers and families of SEN / neuro-diverse children - children with special educational needs including ADHD, Autism, sensory processing difficulties, dyslexia and language and communication difficulties.

At times navigating life with a child with additional needs can feel lonely and overwhelming. I offer a confidential, non-judgemental place and time to focus on you, talk through your concerns and support you as you work through them.

Making time for yourself to feel heard and understood and giving yourself the space to process your emotions will enable you to support your child in the best way you can.

Supporting your child to thrive and succeed can at times be challenging, leading to parent stress and burnout.

Whether this is;

  • Identifying your child’s specific challenges and seeking diagnoses

  • Advocating for your child

  • Liaising with school staff

  • Securing the right educational setting for your child

  • Managing challenging behaviour, sibling relationships, family dynamics or societal expectations.

I can signpost to resources and agencies that can provide additional support for your specific circumstances.
